چکیده

This paper reports the effect of 1.0 wt%, 3.0 wt% and 5.0 nanoclay loadings on specific wear rate properties basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) composites. The BFRP composites were analyzed at three different conditions, i.e., dry adhesive sliding, two-body abrasion, slurry pot erosion in which slide against smooth steel, rough silicon carbide, medium-coarse sand mixture, respectively. operating parameters for tests set 30 N load, 300 rpm speed, 10 km distance. results demonstrated that addition effectively enhanced erosive In properties, containing up to (EP/BF/5NC) marked 31.73% improvement when compared pure system, whereas, under condition, reduced by 51.12% was added EP/BF. As content increases, exhibited as indicated reduction resistance. contrast, incorporation deteriorated abrasive BFRP. rates increased, example, about 101.94% morphology worn surfaces evaluated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) study behavior nano clay modified It concluded significant influence depending environment condition.

Two-body and three-body abrasive wear behaviour of polyaryletherketone composites

Single and multipass two-body and three-body abrasive wear behaviour of various polyaryletherketone composites have been carried out by using a pin-on-disc machine and a rubber wheel abrasion test (RWAT) rig. Abrasive wear studies were conducted under different loads and sliding distances. Comparative wear performance of all the composites at different loads shows that specific wear rate (Ko) o...

Dry Sliding Wear Behavior of Epoxy-Rubber Dust Composites

Composite pins of rubber dust collected from tyre retreading centres of trucks, cars and buses etc.and epoxy with weight percentages of 10. 15, and 20 % of rubber (weight fractions of 9, 13 and 17 % respectively) have been prepared in house with the help of a split wooden mould. The pins were tested in a pin-on-disc wear monitor to determine the co-efficient of friction and weight losses with v...

Recycling of Corundum Particles - Two-body Abrasive Wear of Polymeric Composites Based on Waste

Original scientific paper Recycling of all materials should be supported by modern society. Material recycling is one of the most important ways of dealing with waste. One of material recycling possibilities is an inclusion of waste into primary matrices. A suitable ratio and a combination of waste particles influence in a positive way mechanical properties of the material in which they are dis...

The Dry Sliding Wear Properties of Nano-Sized TiCp/Al-Cu Composites at Elevated Temperatures

Nano-sized ceramic particle reinforced aluminum composites exhibit excellent room-temperature mechanical properties. However, there is limited research on the dry sliding wear behavior of those composites at elevated temperatures, which should be one of the major concerns on elevated temperature applications. Here the Al-Cu composites reinforced with nano-sized TiCp were fabricated. The dry sli...

Prevention of erosive/abrasive enamel wear due to orange juice modified with dietary supplements.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the erosive/abrasive enamel wear after contact with orange juices modified with different dietary supplements. METHODS A total of 96 bovine enamel samples were prepared and allocated to eight groups (1-8; n = 12). Samples were eroded (120 s) in 200 ml of the following eight solutions: 1: water (control), 2: orange juice, 3: water + calcium effer...
